Jon was really excited to draw this one. He was like, “Fuck yeah! This is The Bride! I’m going to put in a boatload of blood!” After which I proceeded to slowly back away from him.
At the point we put this strip on the old website, we were censoring the language with a pixelated filter. But I’m glad we finally did away with that because it makes the strips so much more funny. Plus, people were complaining that they wanted to see the cursing.
So they are so afraid of being quickly decapitated and dying instantly that they commit seppuku, disembowelling themselves so that they can die slowly and painfully over several hours? That makes no sense whatsoever.

It’s not about dying slowly or quickly, in pain or pain-free, but about the honor of taking your life before your enemy can.
