I wanted this strip to be as bloody as possible because I love how violent and unapologetic the Blade movies were.  Especially the first flick, which had the EDTA weapon that made vampires explode like over-filled water balloons, hehe.  The second film was just as hardcore, but I have to fault the third with being the weakest in the trilogy.

I like the twist ending on this joke.  Anybody get fooled?  Anybody see it coming?

Déjà vu.  I drew this strip simultaneously with #43 sot it was really easy.  We originally planned on doing this strip on Halloween one year later as kind of a not to ourselves, but we got impatient.  Though, it’s cool to see these two strips back to back.  I think it’s interesting how the black and white strip has a more eerie feeling to it.  Maybe color is why this 1998 remake bombed.  Now that Vince Vaughn is sticking to comedies now, it’s weird to look back and take him seriously in these dramatic roles.

Jon’s initial idea for the second panel was for John Murdoch to sit on a throne telling a jester to bring him more wine.  I convinced him to take it farther and offered some suggestions.  He used a lot of them (except for my “his dick is a gun” idea), but blew me away with the background.  I also like how he made it feel like the Rainbow Road stage in Mario Kart.
